Ginosi

Full front-end implementation for an international serviced-apartment booking website

Ginosi offered serviced apartments in several cities and countries. Its website let visitors search for accommodation and reserve apartments.

Working directly with the client in April–May 2019, I joined when the visual design was already in place and implemented the full front end under a tight schedule - turning the supplied designs into the working booking-site UI.

What the work involved

An established accommodation business, with its booking website already designed. It needed all of it built as a working front end, quickly.

  1. Context

Ginosi’s visual design already existed. What it needed was a front end that worked.

  2. From designs to structure

The supplied designs reviewed, then turned into a shared layout and styling for every page.

  3. Search, listings and properties

The accommodation search, the listings and the property pages - the core of the booking experience.

  4. Every screen size

Responsive behaviour across the site, then the finished front end handed over.

  5. What changed

The entire front-end UI, delivered within a very short timeframe - sooner than the client had asked for.

  6. What this shows

    • End-to-end ownership of the presentation layer
    • Speed of execution
    • Implementing another designer’s work accurately

Principles

What a fast build still held to.

  • Faithful to the design

The approved visual design, implemented as drawn.

  • Consistent patterns

Common patterns kept the same across every page.

  • Reliable delivery

A tight schedule, met without cutting corners.

  • Every screen size

An interface that works on every screen.
