I’m Stepan Torchyan — a designer, UI engineer and founder of Torchyan, based in Armenia. I work on websites, digital products and interface systems, connecting design decisions with how things are built.

That’s how I approach Torchyan too: design and development should work as one process, not two disconnected stages. I stay involved from the first idea through implementation, bringing in trusted specialists when the project needs them.

At the end, the goal is simple: make things that look right, work well, and are built to last.

Front-end Developer

What I did

  • Hands-on web development across client and self-initiated projects, building responsive interfaces from Photoshop designs with HTML, CSS, LESS/SCSS, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Worked closely with PHP back-end development and e-commerce platforms including Shopware and Shopify

Front-end Developer

What I did

  • First built Brainstorm’s agency website as an external project, then joined the team to work on Scunci, By Robyn Blair, Off My Case and Gemmed
  • Used Shopify, Squarespace, Liquid, Gulp, Git, InVision and Zeplin

UI Developer

What I did

  • Worked on UI implementation for internal and client projects, focusing on semantic HTML, structured SCSS, BEM/OOCSS, responsive layouts, accessibility and pixel accuracy
  • Worked in PHP and Angular environments and contributed to UX discussions

  • Taught HTML/CSS to two groups of around ten students each

  • Went deeper into component-based UI development, translating Figma and InVision designs into production interfaces and working closely with designers

What I did

I use AI tools every day to research, prototype and build faster. The judgement, design decisions and accountability remain mine.

The goal: websites and products that work as intended, are thoughtfully built, and can keep improving after launch.
